“Grow Your Own Community! Lessons Learned from Running Kubernetes Community Days across Europe”
Kubernetes Community Days are community-driven events that bring users and technologists from open source and cloud-native communities together to learn, collaborate, and connect to further advance Kubernetes. Organizing KCDs is very rewarding, but it can also be a huge undertaking with many potential challenges and pitfalls. This panel brings together organizers from some of the largest Kubernetes Community Days in Europe to share their experiences and best practices for getting started, as well as dos and don'ts for organizing community events. We'll talk about building your team, ensuring diversity, managing logistics, sourcing sponsors, managing finances and more. If you're new to community organizing or a seasoned veteran, you're sure to get some insights on how to organize better events!

“Love, Death and Robots – with Wasm & K8s on Boston dynamics Spot”
Can containers and Kubernetes run anywhere? Yes, almost. We've seen security-critical infrastructure like fighter jets, fully isolated environments, and more with Kubernetes in the past. So it's no wonder that the SPOT robot from Boston Dynamics also runs on containers. But that wasn't enough for us. How and why we optimized the (real) bot a bit and what we learned from it is part of this presentation. We'll show you the easy steps to migrate to K8s, the experimental integrations with Wasm, and ideas on how to manage SPOT like any other Kubernetes. Our goal is to provide a highly reliable, self-healing software infrastructure for large industrial robots that is safe, fast and autonomous.
Speakers: Max Körbächer, Liquid Reply; Kevin Hawryluk, Roboverse Reply
