The Agile Buddy automates the creation of detailed user stories, ensuring clarity and completeness. The assistant automatically generates acceptance criteria based on predefined templates and user inputs. It ensures user stories meet the Definition of Ready (DoR) before proceeding, reducing the risk of incomplete requirements.

Agile Buddy supports sprint planning by breaking down user stories into actionable subtasks. To do this, it supports effort estimation using historical data and machine learning algorithms.

How we did it

A clear understanding of context and process

The experts at Open Reply and Riverland Reply have skillfully combined various technologies to provide all these functionalities of the Agile Buddy. For example, the chain of thought prompting – a technique in which the language model is encouraged to explain its thought processes step by step in order to better solve complex tasks – in combination with a hybrid RAG approach that uses function calling to draw on other knowledge sources enables the comprehensible and contextual processing of data.

The function calling was supplemented by the ReAct (Reasoning and Acting) framework . While the ability of large language models (LLM) to draw conclusions and to act are otherwise only treated separately, this concept combines both aspects in one system to make it possible to directly perform actions on the project management software tools in use without any human intervention.
