va-Q-tec was faced with the enviable challenge of managing a fast growing market and increasing demand for its products. Some of the key objectives were the ability to manage the warehouse and the line feeding to enable faster, more reliable and more efficient production and to gain visibility into the flow of materials within the warehouse and production sites. Therefore va-Q-tec entrusted Reply as a strategic partner with the design and deployment of a modern WMS for its two main sites in Würzburg and Kölleda to support their ambitious future.
Following a comprehensive analysis of the customer’s logistics processes at both sites, the solution chosen was Click Reply™ Warehouse Management. The project go-live was subdivided in three steps by area to reduce business impact and risk. Reply’s WMS tracks all movements throughout the warehouse, controls inventory and uses mobile devices to perform inbound and putaway. It interfaces with an ERP system and features automatic email updates regarding KPI tracking, potential errors and inbound/outbound delays.

A variety of reasons led to va-Q-tec's choice of partnering with Reply. First, the fact that Reply has over 25-years of history combining logistics expertise with new technologies. Reply's proven experience interfacing ERP systems and an extensive customer portfolio were additional factors. va-Q-tec was also able to verify Click Reply's capabilities first hand in a reference visit to an existing customer location. This allows the customer to adapt simple processes. Reply's approach included continuous consulting throughout the whole project, from the design and creation of labels, the decision of hardware devices/printers, to logistics optimization processes and operational workflows.
