The increase in electricity generated from renewable sources – which by definition is difficult to schedule or predict with certainty – brings some critical issues, such as the complex balance between supply and demand and the risk of overloading power grids. In this context energy flexibility programs, such as Demand Response, offer numerous benefits to electricity grid operators and suppliers, and end customers.
