Latest Donations Build on Company’s Ongoing Financial Commitment to Education in Haiti
San Ramon, CA—January 26, 2010—Following donations of more than $100,000 to fund schools in Haiti in 2009, Reply.com and its employees have contributed more than $60,000 to Haitian relief and reconstruction efforts to aid schools and earthquake victims of this month’s devastating earthquake, the company announced today.
Immediately following the earthquake, Reply! made a $10,000 donation to the Red Cross International Response Fund to provide aid to earthquake victims in Haiti. Reply! also canceled its 2010 company awards banquet, which was scheduled for early February, and instead donated the money to benefit Haiti. In addition, significant contributions from employees, with matching funds …

Key Local Media Trends to Watch in 2010

BIA/Kelsey released its media trend report yesterday, identifying key local media trends to watch in 2010. Reply! COO Sean Fox has been invited to speak at BIA/Kelsey’s Marketplaces 2010 conference, which takes place March 22-24 in San Diego. Fox will discuss his own thoughts on many of these predictions. We at Reply! were especially intrigued by the fifth prediction on BIA/Kelsey’s list: it states that despite the general devaluation of ad networks and the impact of a poor economy, analysts believe vertical ad networks hold a great deal of promise.

Relief for Earthquake Victims in Haiti

As many of you are now aware, the Caribbean island nation of Haiti experienced a massive, devastating earthquake yesterday. When we traveled to Haiti with the Mona Foundation less than two months ago, we glimpsed a hopeful, yet impoverished, nation. We are deeply saddened by the wrenching footage of this tragedy. Reports say that at the time of the earthquake, 300 people were inside the Hotel Montana, where we stayed in the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince, and only 100 have so far made it out alive after the building collapsed. Mona Foundation supporters have been unable to reach the dedicated teachers and enthusiastic students we got to know on our trip. Our thoughts and prayers are …

In a recent Search Engine Land article, blogger Brad Geddes spotlighted Seven Incredibly Valuable But Underused Free Tools For PPC Marketers. Check it out! It’s worth a read. It includes insights about some great free SEM tools, such as Acquisio—a platform for optimizing pay-per-click campaigns—and Google Sets, which can help you maximize the effectiveness of your ad copy. Checking Thesaurus.com with the Google keyword tool is also a really good idea for keyword expansion.

Google is Watching

If Jim Morrison of The Doors was alive today—and working in search engine marketing—right about now, he might be crooning, “Google is strange, when you’re a searcher. Sponsored ads are mashed-up when you’re online.”
Google is tracking search query history and serving sponsored ads based on a variety of searches, not just the query that drove the search results. For example, if you do a Google search for “new home windows,” then search for “free home listings,” you may see sponsored ads for both key phrases after you hit the search button twice. Google is currently mashing up search results for certain keywords, displaying sponsored ads that are most likely to be clicked. Posted by Payam Zamani, Chairman & CEO Posted by Reply! Visiting Haiti – Can Education Be The Answer?
Filed Under Reply! News | Leave a Comment
My wife Gouya and I traveled to Haiti last month with a group of supporters of the Mona Foundation, which included “The Office” actor Rainn Wilson (who plays Dwight Schrute) and his wife Holiday Reinhorn. Although I have also visited poverty-stricken villages in Africa with the foundation, Haiti’s poverty is coupled with frequent warnings of violence against visitors, especially ones from the United States. As I traveled on Haiti’s treacherous (mostly unpaved) and pothole-packed streets, I glimpsed a dichotomous scene: a scenically picturesque, lush landscape marred by high level of poverty.
Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. The top 1 percent of …
