An all-new phoning system designed for business use that unites chat functions, calling, meetings, email services and calendars has been released by Microsoft here in the United Kingdom.
Entitled Microsoft Business Voice, the brand-new phone system has been specially put together as a comprehensive collaboration and communications package, ideal for organisations with around 300 network users. Located in the cloud, it integrates seamlessly with Microsoft Office 365 and makes use of Teams. With this capability, Business Voice from Microsoft enables employees to work across a broad spectrum of hardware, including desktop phones, smartphones, computers, and other personal devices, making calls from any location.
Increased integration for clearer communication
The new Business Voice service also uses cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology developed by Microsoft to create automatic transcripts of voicemails, supply captions for meetings which will be added in real-time and translate messages in chat applications.
In a recent Microsoft Blogpost, the Redmond-based company spoke out on the Business Voice phone system:
“Today’s businesses need communication and collaboration tools that are easy to use and designed to work together. That’s why we built Microsoft 365 Business Voice, a cloud-based phone system for businesses with up to 300 users that enables you to call any phone number. It integrates with Office 365, and together they deliver an all-in-one communication and collaboration solution. Starting today, Business Voice is available as an add-on to Microsoft 365 and Office 365 plans in Canada and the UK, and will be available globally in 2020.”
Other features of the service include the option to collaborate fully in O365 programs like PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook with meetings and calls, assign dial-in numbers to meetings and change a chat into a meeting with a single mouse-click. Business Voice also allows users to begin, schedule and even join meetings directly from Outlook.
A helping hand from Microsoft
The new phone system includes a helpful “getting started wizard”. With this useful tool, new users are given a walk through on how to set up new numbers in the service while existing Office 365 users can manage their Business Voice preferences conveniently from their O365 administrative console to keep life simple.
The Microsoft 365 Business Voice phone system is centred on Microsoft Teams, a collaboration platform currently employed by over 13 million individuals each day. Available over 181 different markets and in an extensive range of 53 languages, it’s already been adopted by such major companies as FedEx, The Adecco Group, Emirates, KONE, Lexmark and McCann Worldgroup.
Available to purchase direct from Microsoft or via your present IT partner, Business Voice is the very latest in communication and collaboration from the US multinational.
