A company that develops video games, Hutch, has announced that it has been successful in raising new funding of £4m during an investment round that Backed VC and Index Ventures led together.
This company is based within the technology cluster in East London known as Silicon Roundabout, and was founded six years ago. It has built its profile with the successful racing game "Hot Wheels", which has developed a number of hit games apps for both Android and iOS.
In confirming the news of this investment, the company's CEO, Shaun Rutland, stated that Hutch had been founded on the grounds that there was tremendous long-term potential for games based around racing and built for mobile devices, and that the business was now operating at full capacity thanks to a combination of IP, technology and strong creative talent. He concluded:
"This investment is testimony to that and will allow us to accelerate our ambitions, whilst also creating a company with strong values and a culture that empowers our people to create leading-edge mobile games."
Rutland also stated that the company was pleased to find backers that supported this vision. Its game "Hot Wheels: Race Off" has been purchased by 14 million people since it was launched late last year.
