Director, Search Engine Marketing

Position Summary:

Reply.com, a San Francisco-based, hot pre-IPO company is seeking a director of search engine marketing to join our team. This person will play a critical role in driving Reply’s profitable growth by driving profitable online acquisition with search engine marketing across multiple direct response vertical categories.

Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of search engine marketing experience managing over $250K/mth in spend.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage overall paid search campaign strategy and implementation across a range of paid search suppliers.
  • Continually leverage new tools and industry best practices to ensure peak performance
  • Manage a small team and coordinate with internal teams
  • Manage account structure, keyword expansion, ad copy analysis, bid strategy, etc
  • Oversee media-spend budgets, keyword list-management, gross margin and profitability of SEM
  • Write ad copy and optimize through A/B testing.
  • Conduct keyword research to produce optimal click through rates.
  • Research, identify and establish partnerships with contextual networks for interactive placement.
  • Top-to-bottom management of paid search campaigns; generating ranking reports, conducting site audits, handling client concerns, etc
  • Build killer landing pages to optimize conversion rates
  • Utilize bid management tools and data modeling to maximize the effectiveness of PPC campaigns.
  • Compile daily marketing analysis of search engine marketing
    • Monitor campaign results, analyze key metrics, and optimize click-through and conversion rates.
    • Keyword analysis, conversion % analysis, non-converting spend reporting, search query reports, etc
    • Provide recommendations to increase effectiveness and efficiency by leveraging analytic insights
    • Manage monthly forecasting and mid-month budget review process

Qualifications:

  • Experience in lead generation online marketing industry a strong plus
  • Undergraduate degree required, Masters degree is preferred
  • 3 Years experience with Paid Search is a must
  • Experience with large, complex search engine marketing (SEM) campaigns; detailed knowledge of SEM strategies and tactics a MUST
  • Experience and comfort independently leading SEM performance and strategy presentations
  • Proven track record of successful SEM strategy and implementation.
  • Comprehensive understanding of keyword research.
  • Strong experience with ad copy development.
  • Proficient with SEM reporting and analytical tools.
  • Proficient to expert with Excel and Word.
  • Strong hands-on experience and a desire to act as an individual contributor Startup experience: the candidate should have early-stage business experience
  • Strong ability to think independently and creatively to translate business requirements
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver objectives consistently
  • Strong comfort with number crunching and creative modeling – yep, we need right brain & left brain folks
